BACK ‘BELLO’
Mark
Bellingham, making his return after a 15 month lay
off due to serious cruciate knee injuries, scored
a second half penalty kick equaliser to earn West
Mids a much needed point.
Neither
keeper was seriously troubled in a first half of
few chances. The game came alive when Police keeper
Richard Knott, under pressure, dropped a corner
kick and the home side’s Robert Woodward was
on hand to force the ball home from close range.
Bellingham
led the police fight back and on 83 minutes he tricked
his way down the left flank and as he cut in on
goal he was brought down from behind. Bellingham
picked himself up and coolly dispatched the spot
kick giving home keeper Dean Smith no chance.
