MIDLAND
FOOTBALL COMBINATION
PREMIER DIVISION
Coleshill
Town (0) 0 West Midlands Police (2) 2
West
Mids had to start this game without the two key players
who have scored all their goals (apart from an own goal)
so far this season. Steve Piearce was unavailable and Mark
Bellingham was half fit on the substitutes bench. However
a good all round workmanlike performance saw them overcome
lowly Coleshill Town.
Police went ahead on 27 minutes when a corner was half cleared
to Gagy Bedi who prmptly returned the ball towards the far
post where Jasvinder Sira, under heavy pressure, scored
with a waist high header.
Goal
number two came on 42 minutes when Ollie Latchford burst
through the Coleshill defence and set up Michael Mason who
side-stepped the advancing goalkeeper to rolled the ball
into an empty net.
West
Mids continued on top during the second half but the nearest
they came to adding to their goal tally was when Latchford
rattled the crossbar from a free kick, with the Town's keeper
nowhere.
