MIDLAND FOOTBALL ALLIANCE
PREMIER DIVISION

West Midlands Police 0, Pershore Town 2

Two first half goals from visitors Pershore Town were enough to secure all three points at Tally Ho!

The first chance of the game, on 4 minutes, fell to West Mids when a long throw-in from Paul Shaw was headed down by Richard Cox to Mark Bellingham, who's first time volley flew just over the bar.

Pershore went ahead on 11 minutes, when Police keeper Ross Bate, under pressure from Darren Taft, fumbled the ball and it dropped just over the goal line. On 20 minutes, Pershore missed a good chance to increase their lead when Taft and Judge combined well together but the final shot from Judge was hit straight at Bate.

West Mids enjoyed a good 10 minute spell. A mix up in the Pershore defence let in Bellingham who bundled over in the box, but no penalty was awarded. The Bellingham broke down the left flank and saw his angled drive go just wide of the near post. Martin Brown, making his first team debut, then set up Bellingham with a pin-point cross but the shot was blocked and dayle Speed following up fired over the bar. Stuart Evans then had a shot on the turn that had Pershore keeper Barry McClean at full stretch to save at the expense of a corner. Brown again set up Bellingham who saw his right foot shot well saved by McClean.
As so often happens, after absorbing a spell of pressure, Pershore increased their lead in the next attack on 32 minutes.

Early in the second half Bellingham went close with two chances for West Mids, heading a Kevin Casson cross just over and shooting just wide from a good position. The game then died with Pershoe content to sit on their two goal lead and west Mids were unable to reduce the deficit.
